I am you. You cannot escape Me my miseries Pour forth our Joys overlap your River runs through Me we roll Over rocks a Snow melt swollen Creek filled with Life filled with Purpose you me Rushing then stopping In the shade Of trees to Commiserate.
Day 26 of #100DayChallenge and also National Poetry Month. Thank you to my new friend Scott Woermann for this wonderful prompt today.
For me, friendships feel like feats of nature! Making a connection with another human being is a full sensory experience that wakes me up. I don’t just love my friends — I feel as if I am a living part of them.
I had this experience of understanding something real about this truth when I started meeting my friends children. I would gaze on these phenomenons and talk to them and want to swallow them whole nearly!
It made me realize how much love I had felt from my own parent’s friends when I was a child. How funny and awkward that made me feel but also how I must have learned some kind of compassionate love from them as well.
Did you ever have that experience?
