Day 15 of 30 Days of Poetry, Autumn 2024
Serenity wears many disguises. Standing at an edge of change and uncertainty, peace comes in cool sips in sunset streaks in flashes of lightning to herald a break in the heat and a promise to shatter the monotony.
Today’s word is “serenity”.
The photo above is from Pleasant Pond in Maine and was taken on July 15, 2018, just days after we drove away from our life in Connecticut to move back to the Midwest. We towed our camper and camped along the way. Isaiah is fishing in the lake at sunset.
Life hands us all kinds of disruptions — some more massive than others. But in between life is always drizzled with moments of peace and calm and beauty.
Thanks to Mike Rosen — on of my UU friends — for my prompt today.
