When did I begin? a Buddhist argues there's no logic to mortal beginnings, I just am and ever shall be, as I always was. now fish in the ocean now bird in the sky consciousness now less then more -- what vast eternities go back back back inside this limited frame? outside there may be boundaries, but whose? I rest easier letting go the temptation of worry, the prison of lack. boundless life unfolds (haven't you sensed it? haven't you known?) hold on loosely but don't let go -- I don't tremble: I am the shiver. thus, a container conveys me, for now. not everyday do I believe it. somedays, I dream of hugging my mom again, sitting at a heavenly table with her and my aunts, voices tumbling over the cards -- are they there now? aren't they here now? the past takes a new shape when I hold it today when I breathe another life into it: dawn breaks. morning comes: another day.
April 4th, today’s poem was in response to a prompt from my writing group
: Write about resurrection. This writing group has made my life so much better.I hope you are enjoying NaPoWriMo, wherever your are experiencing it. One of my favorite things is finding poems in the wild, literally. Poet and friend Jamie Heller is one of the writer featured at the Poetry Walk in Strang Park, Johnson County, KS.
I don't tremble:
I am the shiver.
